Letter from the Editor

Despite the pitifully long delay, Issue No. 4 promises to be a treat, with voices that I have long wanted to include. I am extremely pleased with the number of applications in recent months, which certainly marks the beginning of THEwaller becoming the publication I originally envisioned. As such, new positions on the editing side will also be opening, so please PM me if you think you will have time, especially during the academic year!

When we first started this issue, I was notably absent from the community; I had become--and still am--trapped in the world of Kpop. This sudden obsession prompted me to reflect on the importance of music, not only as a source of inspiration but also as an important part of getting us through our walls.

And so we kick things off with an inspirationism from aqi exploring possibilities for translating her romance with Kpop into ideas for walling. We then move towards Western music with an honest reflection by the well-known AssasinXXX on how music has affected his career.

Both aqi and Assasin have expressed their love for music through creative design, a pillar of which lies in typography. This month's feature expounds on the basics of typography, ruminating on both major pitfalls and lessons I have personally learned.

I am also delighted to reveal a new section, for which I hope there will be more applications in the coming months. Damoser tackles Screenshot with a recreation of an iconic scene from FFVII, packed with useful tips for those who lack motivation in background-renders.

We continue on this scenic note: alenas takes us through a Take Two of Sunset Girl, revisiting the trials and tribulations, the good and the bad, and the lessons she learned along the way. Finally, we end with our last staff interview, as I learn more about our youngest staff member, aqiaqua!
